I just read that Mike Harker was working with Hunter on a new 48' model and will sail hull #1 around the world. Harker is the man who sailed his 466 on a circumnavigation. Anybody know anything about this new offering? John Richard s/v Jack's Place

... that he was getting. The only new ones I heard about at the rendevous were the newly-announced 45 center cockpit and the high performance 27's. I'm sure they have others in prototype. Rick D.

Custom H38

I saw a custom-ordered H38 this past week at Sailing Specialties in Mystic, CT. It was the traditional Hunter 38, but customized colors. Not the usual Navy Blue and Grey, but Maroon and tan. It was up on the hard and the bottom was painted the "rust" color. Maybe they will have it at the Newport Show next weekend?

The maroon and tan colors

have been around for a year at least. Not sure if they're an option, but a lot of the mag ads show those colors (38') and there was one at the Annapolis show last year.

It is probably a 46 with a sugar scoop in the

Transom. There was a Vinoy 47 which was a modified 466/460 in the market a few years back. They added a 3 ft sugar scoop to the transom. I have seen one (maybe 2) in the Annapolis area with a green hull. In addition to the added lenght, the Vinoy 47 had a lot of luxury items that increased the price to 355-400k. Matias Yukiyu - H46

Standard Colors?

Than, am I to assume that the standard Hunter colors are optional? I have seen the 38 with both. :)
