Catalina Capri 22 45 Annapolis
Our Capri 22, .45, just took the PHRF Chesapeake High Point award for 2016. With new sails and a perfect baltoplate bottom, the boat in less than 10knots of breeze was unstoppable. In less than 6 knots we were taking most of our competition boat for boat. Results:
1st Race to Rock Hall
1st Race to Corsica River (took a drysailed J-88 with a full carbon sail inventory) - they were torqued.
1st Star Spangled Banner Classic
2nd Harbor Cup (sustained 40kt breeze in the Potapsco River)
2nd Race to Mile River
3rd Race to Baltimore
4th Hammond Memorial (solid 25kts)
5th Race to Oxford (15-20kt wind with 3-4ft chop beating for 20NM)

At PHRF of 207 the boat can easily handle other boats from 150sec/mi and up in less than 10kts - both up wind and down.

I posted some pics in that section which will show you how we set the boat up. Boat is way easy to find the groove up wind and with a pump of the main downwind will routinely live above 6.5-7 knots.

Boat did not like being sailed perfectly flat but with a 5-10 deg heel.

I used the Ullman Sails tuning guide for setting up the rig even though I had UK sails onboard. Worked great!!!
