My Depth Sounder "Raymarine" transducer has packed up,I am having trouble getting a lift out to fit a thru'hull type which I can take out for cleaning or replacment. I was thinking that perhaps I could fit an in hull version of the transducer,I have a spare NASA type which I could glue to the inside hull.Has anybody tried this and where is the best place given thickness of the GPR, Keel etc.It also occured to me that maybe a Fish Finder might be a good idea, any suggestions. Regards, Gerry

Transducer or Display??

Gary, Are you sure that it is your transducer that has quit? A few years back our depth sounder (a Raymarine ST50)stated to act up. Raymarine said that transducers hardly ever act up and it is usually the display. Sure enough he was right. Peter Milne S/V Blue Heron

Sounder

Thank's Peter, The previous owner told me that the display was tested by the Raymarine agent who said that the display was ok.The previous owner bought the new transducer for me but I am having problems getting a lift out.Anyway, the new unit is a removable one which is better because I can withdraw it any time for cleaning etc. Regards, Gerry
