There were three mast options in the US. Furling which was the shortest, classic and tall classic. The last two are standard main with sail bags. If you talk to a sailmaker like North sails they can give you dimensional differences.

The short answer is NO...but they did make a taller rig which was called the 'tall' or 'performance' rig.
The 'standard' 423 mast is:
"P" for the Classic mainsail is: 13.24m
"P" for the Furling mainsail is: 13.08m
and the "P" for the Tall rig is 13.94m

The 'E' measurement for all 3 was: 4.52m

The "I' measurement for the standard mast is: 14.83m
The "I" for the performance rig is: 15.08
And the "J" is the same for all: 5.035

Shorter Mast???

Why would you want a shorter mast? The classic/standard is short enough for a 423. Just curious.

Sorry for the late reply . Not looking for a shorter mast , we have another 423 that berths next to us and her mast looks to be approx half a meter taller than ours .

Captn TJ. Are there any markings on the spars that would identify a mast as a tall rig? My 423 is supposed to be the tall rig. I have the Doyle stack pack. I cannot see in any of my literature from the boat that this is the case, other than the listing on yacht world.

No marks but obvious if you're next to a std 423. Over the next week I'll take a measurement and send it off to you
