Hunter 42 Passage San Diego, CA
I am new to owning a Hunter 42 Passage with Isomat boom and I am really getting into brining it all up to modern parts. I am considering changing the reef system from two line (with internal double block) to single line reef, bloks on the cringles. I also need to determine the size and type of block at the boom ends for the outhaul and the reef systems as well as recommended line size for the reef lines. Can anyone help me with these things. I have found a few threads on the form dealing with RigRite and they seem to maybe be out of business. so, questions: Has anyone made this conversion or does anyone think I would be making a mistake to do this conversion? Do I hve to obtain the blocks and spindles from a spar manufaturer or do suppliers like WEst Marine have replacement gear like that? What materials and bearings are recommended for these blocks and berings? Your input is invaluable to me. Thanks
