Stu, I know for sure alternator charing circuit doesn't pass through the tachco. What I'm saying is to reduce the voltage going to the tachco by putting a diode or two to drop by 0.6-1.2V. I was referring to the circuit given above.

Is there any validity to the suggestion of the diodes on that circuit? I, for one, don't understand the concept.

Just 'cuz I haven't heard of it, or seen it, doesn't mean it won't work, but I just don't get it, like: the "why?" and "how does it work?" and "what's it supposed to do?" Little things like that. Please help me understand, that's all. Not sayin' it won't work, but I'd like to figure out how it's supposed to help, compared to my last post or two on this.
