WE are still pretty close to where we were last night. Moved up the creek this morning before the front blew through. Got up here and found it too narrow to anchor up, as both sides lined with boats and docks. Pulled into the Deep Creek Marina, and what a find. Docks are kind of shabby, not exactly first class. But the price is right. FREE You got it. FREE Electricity if you want it, is 5 bucks a night, and that is also free if you eat at the resturant. So we ate at the resturant, probably would have anyway. Resturant is nice, food damn good. Met a bunch of the locals and overall had a pretty good time. Met two guys in a Cal 20, who had come across the river to eat. They hadn't been out in the bay, but said the river had some pretty good rollers in it, estimated at three or four feet. Staying put was a wise decision for us. Front came through a little before noon. Before the front hit, it was a really pretty morning. South winds of 5 to 10, and was tempting to take off. Then the front blew through, and made us glad we stayed here. Some rain first, and then the wind really kicked up. Kept listening to the NOAA forecasts, and it was blowing 40 knots at the bay bridge, which is within sight of us. Gusts over 50 were forecast. Barometer is now on the rise, but it's pretty chilly. Tomorrow and Sunday supposed to be great, forecast 10 to 15 knots. Clear skies, and seas of 1 to 2 feet. So we are off again in the morning. Hopefully will be in Norfolk Monday afternoon. May not be able to get on line till then, but will if we can. For someone who asked, I have a cell phone hookup for an internet connection. I use Sprint, but the software is from an outfit called future dial. Sprint doesn't really seem interested in anyone using the net, except for text messages. Works pretty good, but is sometimes terribly slow.
