Does anyone out there have a mold for a Hunter 386 Starboard LP Gas Locker Lid? I called Hunter to purchase a replacement and they told me that the original mold was thrown out. Somehow they kept only the port locker lid mold which has a different shape than the starboard lid. Any suggestions would help.

Thanks,

Are you talking about the molded plastic insert that covers the tanks or the actual locker lid which also serves as a cockpit seat? The first can be substituted by a piece of plastic liner but the actual lid would be a problem. The boat model is to new for salvage parts to be reasonably available. Perhaps you may get someone to remove theirs and fabricate a mold but that could be unlikely. I can't believe Hunter would dispose of a lid mold after barely 5 years. Ask for Hunter's assistance through their wide network of dealers to locate a used h386 that a mold could be made of the lid. I would not think if they seriously stand behind the brand that they would outright refuse to help you. It's going to cost you though.

Thanks for the reply Benny. I called Hunter 10 times to discuss my unhappiness that they did not keep the mold for this particular item. They were absolutely no help at all! I guess I have to manufacture from scratch.

Thanks Anyway,

Sam
