I checked my keel slot again, front back and center where I could on the cradle and it seems to be foam filled. Has anyone else found this? Would you think the pivot hole is ther also? I did some searches when I first got her didnt find much. My first 37 (allegera) was a deep draft missed buying her back buy 2 weeks . So the big ? has anyone found drawings for what a board/location in keel would look like? I could make a board at work if I knew what it was size wise and where to mount in the keel. It would be fun to pass my old boat with my new:dance:. I will try Mars keel next week to see if they have any info. I didnt before because I thought the keel was solid. I thought I would have to pull the keel put up on the mill to cut a slot (to much work/money for return) but now I think this may be doable.

Watching with mild interest Terry. As I said, too old and too lazy to pursue myself. But you could make a lot of shoal draft H37C owners happy if it turned out to be a relatively inexpensive modification. I am guessing that you will be on your own so far as getting any information. First step is to see how big that slot is after you dig out the foam. How will you get a cable down there to swing that centerboard?

Hi Ed , I have a friend with a Irwin C/B boat same basic layout as ours. Like the guy with the 30 said cable comes up thru bilge to hose to pipe to roof back to winch. I e-mailed mars this morning to see if they have info, they may have made our keels. The slot runs allmost full length hard to tell true width yet, keel is BEAT will have to try to get some pics for you just for fun. The boat most have hit a bunch of ledges up in green bay area. Do you don't get hits like that down in your area do you. It's sand and mud on my side of lake mich, if you hit bottom you just stop soft no big deal up north the hits hurt more than your pride.

I have not seen my keel since last out ot the water in Oriental, NC, October 2008. From there we were probably aground ten times or more in the ICW and at Marathon in the Keys. But never fast and never hard. So this week I will get to check her out when the truck arrives from Florida. From the time that I bought the boat it has had a flat spot on the side of the forward bottom part of the keel, port I think. Someone must have hit pretty hard to move that much lead.
