Following on Jim Ewings post, I have a 1993 37.5 and am installing a new AB Cold Machine. I want to configure 2 compartments: a refer and freezer. I now have a big box with no divider. I bought a large size verticle AB evaporator and am planning to divide the compartment and install the evaporator in the left side to create a feezer. If anyone out there has done this or has a similar setup: 1. What did you use to divide the box? I'm thinking of using something that I can mount the evaporator directly onto. 2. Freezer on left or right? 3. Do you have a fan circulating the air from the freezer to refer? 4. Suggestions or alternatives to consider? Thanks.

partitioning your box

For your partition, use a sheet of 2" rigid polyurethane foam. Face it with fiberglass or Formica. You may want to move it around until you finalize its position, then seal it air tight to the sides and bottom. Try to keep the freezer 3 cubic feet or less. Several options are available for spillover, the thermostat controled fan being the best in front opening refrigerators. Automatic shutters work very well in top opening refers.
