comments of 40.5 owner
i previously owned a h31 and was in the market for a larger model about 2 yrs ago....i had always admired the 37.5 and was primarily interested in this model..my wife (believe it or not) talked me into looking into a 1995 40.5 which i bought...i couldn't be happier...i was a little intimidated by the size, but am now quite used to it....it's the only time i've ever bought a boat without wishing in 6 months that i had bought a larger size....the only real problem with the 40.5 is raising the main....i solved that by adding an elec halyard winch which should be std equipment....she sails great...there is some weather helm at large angles of heel...i have nothing negative about the 37.5, but if you can swing the larger model financially, i'd definitely recommend it...one more point...i love the windshield which makes for a very open feeling in the cabin....if you want more details, email me at sailor1543@aol.com...bob v s/v reliance
