Does anyone know the headsail luff dimension for the 37.5. Although the furler has been replaced, it is still located below the foredeck. Our boat is 300 miles north, under 2' of snow, not to be seen for another 3 months.

Look on this site

Go to the HOW home page and click on "Boat information" tab, then go to "boat photos and specs" along the side menu select 37.5 and you're there. Using ol' Pythagoras and the I and J dimensions you can calculate your luff.

The 37.5 is a fractional rig

Wright - The head stay on the 37.5 does not go up to the top of the mast, the point measured by the J dimension. As I remember, the head stay hits the mast about 1/8th of the way down the mast - a 7/8ths rig. I worked this out mathematically, but I am considering a new head sail and need the actual dimension.

Steve,

The "J" is the distance from the front of the mast to the point on the deck that intersects the heasdstay I think the thing you are looking for is the "I". On the 37.5, the "I" is 48'. The length of the headstay, the luff, is 49' 10".
