Survey of a Year 2000, Ben 361. Very difficult to lower salon table. Once down, the white lower flange (that rides up in tube), stays down when raising the table. Very difficult to raise - white plastic flakes coming out of tube as I twist and raise. Any idea what is going on and how to fix.

The white sleeve inside the tube wasn't properly glued and comes loose. I found that I had to grip it with my fingers while pulling the tube back into the upright position. Not the most convenient situation but workable.

Thanks Mike-

Do you use any type of lubricant on the post that the tables slides on? This one is almost impossible to move...

No I didn't (no longer own the boat) but I would suggest using a spray that does not leave a residue. Or if you choose to use one that does wipe it thoroughly before sliding the table up and down. While you want to lube it you don't want any lube getting trapped inside the sleeve that could possible attract more dirt. Good luck.

I also have a 361 in Annapolis. Our white collar slides on its own as well. I usually just put my shoulder into holding the table up higher than the pin and then adjust the collar onto the pin before lowering the table onto it. I haven't had the flaking issue though. good luck.
