The guys setting up my 343 here are swamped with work (3 new boats arriving within 4 weeks) so it's going really slowly (ie I get about one day every 3) and I'd like to help out as much as possible to speed the process along. What's left, apart from things which require climbing up the mast, are the mainsheet traveller and mainsheet. If I could figure out what goes where, I'd do it myself. I wish I had a picture but I don't. The mainsheet traveller ought to be easy to set up, just untie the two ends from the boom (where they tied it on currently) and then run them into the spinlocks. It's setting up the mainsheet's confusing me. The top of the traveller car is some springloaded piece and I seem to have 3 blocks plus one block with becket plus the mainsheet left over. I'm assuming there is supposed to be some kind of leverage on the mainsheet, so I was expecting there would be a block attached to the boom above the traveller, one attached to the traveller and then the mainsheet just goes back to the foot of the mast, through another block, and finally forwards to the spinlock. Does that sound about right? Are there two blocks attached to the traveller? Anyone have a picture of what a 343 traveller/mainsheet combination looks like after it's been set up or a diagram showing the blocks the mainsheet goes through? Yes it sounds like a silly question but when faced with little progress on the boat and a box full of assorted pieces, and no instruction sheet, it's sort of hard to figure out how to set it up.
