34' Anchor Roller Assembly

*cry During a heavy wind storm my anchor roller assembly snapped off. This is the assembly that also anchors the forestay. The cast aluminum assembly must be replaced. I spoke to Rudy who has most of the spare parts for O'days but this piece is not readily available. Does anyone out there know where I may get one, maybe an O'day that's being used for parts?

Have one Made

I you unbolt it and give it to a machinist you should be able to get one stronger and better than the original. Cast aluminum is not the strongest stuff, it has porosity making it weaker than wrought metal. You can get some good plate stock and mill out the shape on a Bridgeport, drill the holes, etc. using the original as a template. I bet a kid in a trade high school learning machining could do it for you. You will need to get it anodized for corrosion protection. This will be much better than the original and not too expensive. Aluminum is as easy to cut as it gets.Dave

Thanks Dave, I was really surprized to see how porous the metal was. Especially since it supports the forestay. It seems to be one of the few weak links on these boats.
