336 Low in the stern

Besides the normal things like shifting gear and tank levels, does anyone know of a fundemental reason why the 336 seems to sit so low in the stern? Is there any kind of known problem with leaks into the hull because of the joint right at the water line? Or some problem like that? I'm just a little concerned about the way mine sits. Any thoughts would be helplful. Thanks.

My 340 Same Hull

I dont know how low the stern of your 336 sits compared to my 340 but since they are similar I could e-mail you a pix of my boat sitting in the water so you can see if your 336 sits any lower than mine. When I am motoring my stern scoots down a little lower where the rub rail across the transmom is in the water but when at anchor or tied up at a marina the scoop transom rub rail is out the water.

Sits even

Our 336 seems to sit evenly on her lines. I agree with the previous writer that the rub rail is close to the surface of the water at the dock, but not touching. Is your stern rubrail submerged?

Different boat, same prob...

We have an 88 h33.5 and although our boats vary greatly this is a common problem that I thought my input and learning might be appreciated (something rare). Especially when we have 3 or 4 persons in the cockpit and under power our normally out of the water transom gets a few inches under the water. We try to have non essential crew sit as close to the companionway as possible (as opposed to say...sitting on the stern rails). Another thing. When going out with the family I always fill the water tank that sits in the bow (on center) to the top. It is 40 gallons and that is 320lbs of water that helps even out the water line. We have also found that storing the heavy things in the cockpit lockers can fit down below while sailing. Good luck. doug

Stern rub rail not in water...

However, with no crew on board the boat sits about 3 inches above her lines at the bow. The stern is on her lines. It just looks wierd. I do fill the bow water tank also to even her out. I guess there may not be a problem here, but I just was looking for any inputs.
