My base below the compression post seems to be sagging a bit. Looking below the floor boards, I drilled through the fiberglass strut right below the metal compression post base and found rotting wood that must have been used to form fiberglass support. A surveyor has recomended pulling the mast, cutting out the rotting wood and replacing the fiberglass strut with a metal pipe so the compression post can rest directly on the pipe. The fiberglass strut looks good to me but you can see some sagging. Any other 336's with this issue? Please advise.

Other Hunter boats built around 1995

Maby other 1995 Hunter 336 do not have the compression post falling step issue but most likely the other 1995 Hunters were constructed the same way. Are there other owners of 1995 vintage Hunters out there with the fiberglass pan and supports below the compression post which are sagging down a bit? Please advise.

Ours too is sagging as we get a small amount of water collecting at the mast base but not enough to warrant repair at this time. We also plan to repair the counter-weight in the compression post when we take it all apart. In the mean time a shot of spray foam keeps any water from leaking from the mast base down the compression post.
