Tom, I noticed on the beautiful picture picture of your Orion 336 you have what appears to be a windless mounted on your deck near or on your anchor locker hatch cover. I have been trying to figure out how to do this for some time. A boatyard told me this was not possible due to no way to run an power forward. If that is a windless I'm seeing on your boat I'm wondering how you did this. If anyone else has installed one I am interested in learning how it was done. Thanks. Leon Maraist, Lagniappe

Anchor Windlass

I mounted a Maxwell 800 on my 336 Knic Knac. I will not tell you it was the easiest job I ever did but I goot it done. The question you had was about electric. I ran a set of 0 gage wires from the Starboard aft (battery area) forward to the windlass. I ran it through some existing channels to the front of the engine compartment. From there to the starboard salon storage seats. In there to the bow. The windlass works like a champ. I also have air and a 3.5KW generator on the boat and I still have pleanty of storage. Thanks Joe

Joe, thanks for the information. I too was interested in installing air conditioning since our move from Wareham MA to West Palm Beach Fla. Where did you find space for the generator and A/C?
