Recently found a hunter for restoration and already in love with her and would like to see others or info from anyone with knowledge of them. Thanks Rob

78 H33

I have owned a 78 h33 for six years and have done a great deal of restoration and upgrading. I have found the boat to be fairly easy to work on and have done almost all of it myself. Be sure to check the backstay chainplates (u-bolts). I just noticed that one of mine seemed to be pulling out. I discovered that both had corroded away below the deck. The problem being that they pass through the aluminum toe rail. This could have resulted in a dismasting. I replaced them with Wichard u-bolts 4"x11/32" rated at 9600 lb working load. Cost was $24.54 ea. I think it is a great boat and have enjoyed the process of bringing back to shape. It is also a fun boat to sail. Feel free to email me at sailorbob7@aol.com
