33.5 swim ladder

Has anyone extended the swim ladder on a Hunter 33.5? I would like to increase the length of ours by 2 steps for 2 reasons. First it would be lower in the water making it easier to climb up. Also it would give you a back rest when sailing.

I got the swim ladder off the other day and cleaned it up. I would like to have a couple of steps added to it. If I could find a swim ladder off another 33.5 I could make one longer swim ladder. Or have a shop add a couple in the middle.
