I suspect that I have multiple leaks around the stanchion bases on my '88 h33.5.I started to remove the stanchions; however, I am having a problem removing the bolts that secure the bases to the deck. The inboard bolts (2) are no problem with the exception of accessing the nuts on the inside of the hull. The main problem is that when I attempt to loosen the outboard bolts, they just spin with no effect on loosening; I can not find a corresponding nut on the inside of the hull to access. This particular model does not have an aluminum toe rail. Some have indicated that there is an aluminum rail imbedded in the fibergalss deck that the outboard stanchion bolts attach to, that may be corroded or stripped. In any case, I can not remove the bolt. Has anyone accomplished this job on a 33.5 who can advise me of the attachment configuration and how to go about removing the bolts and stanchions?
