I'm in need of a keel for the ODAY 322. Anyone happen to know where I might locate one.
The only guy I know who can give you a definite answer is Rudy Nickerson of D&R Marine.
http://www.drmarine.com/ Rudy worked for O'Day years back and when they went out of business in Fall River Ma., Rudy bought all the stock plus all the boat molds.
I'm pretty sure that boat had the wing keel. I remember going aboard one at the Boston Boat Shows. One of the salesman for Gauch Bros. Marine whom I purchased my O'Day 222 from in 1986, owned the O'Day 322 and he loved that boat.
The O'Day 272 and the 240 had wing keels. Who really knows how or why the keel broke off? The guy might have hit a rock for all you know.
I know that Rudy had a guy in Bristol RI named Joe Deponte (Lima Boats Mfg.) build some O'Days for him back in the 1990s like the Widgions, Weekenders (O'Day 192) and also the O'Day 240 which had the wing keel so he'd be the go to guy on that. You might try posting this thread on the Odayowners.com forum for a more concise response.
