Anyone have an idea what a C-315 PHRF rating should be?

I read it as a PHRF of 315. That'd be a bit of a pig of a boat. :)

Is the 315 the same hull/rig as another Catalina? Like the 309 or the 310?

No - the 315 is one of the “5 series” line that Catalina has been making lately. This model was first launched in 2013.

Thanks. They say 165-168, though that's based on a 2-boat sample size.
Yeah, sometimes there isn't a lot to go on. At our club, I am the guy that does the ratings, we use an average as our base. So you could go with 166 or 167 and probably be just fine.

Deduct for fixed 3-blade prop
Deduct for roller furling Genoa
Deduct for in-mast during main
Deduct for wing keel

the 310 starts in the 180s, but with the above goes to 210
In any case PHRF call is being completely redone. I submitted my form in early January and am still awaiting an answer (originally promised in April)

Thanks for that info. I put a MaxProp feathering pro on it, so I won’t get that deduction, but the others are important.

For PHRF Chesapeake bay, my 310 has a base rating of 171, and a 9 sec/mi credit for roller furler/drum above deck and 12 sec/mi for fixed 3 blade prop resulting in 192. The 310s range from 180 and 195 on the bay (three boats). A 309 WK rates 195. These are similar hulls to your 315, but a local rating could be different in your region. My original PHRF certificate did not reflect wing keel, but when I requested a change I got the same rating and WK added to the certificate. She is not really a race boat with a wing keel, but comfortable for beer can racing, and easily sailed with a small crew.
