wonder why the skinny double spreader rig for a cruising 31 ft boat ? masthead at that? From what i remember in my racing days 20 years ago, i would have loved to have this rig where i can bend my mast in all shapes imaginable, but for a cruising boat what is the point 
? I would rather have a nice solid single spreader masthead rig for extended cruising ..... i plan to go through places like Nawitti Bar etc, ( a buddy cracked his mast going through there a few years ago ) . The single spreader is simply tuned up and forgotten, i don't know if i feel the same with a double rig. There are already some owners talking on the forum about hooking masts ,loose uppers etc etc, not to mention i have been through the experience of losing my rig in 30 kts, so maybe i'm just overeacting .....i plan to buy a catalina, just not sure which model mikej
