What does the t in 30t stand for on a 1993 Hunter

T is for Tall?

I must be honest...this is kind of a guess. However, as the "Tall" rig was available on several models and I can't think of any other explanation, I think it must mean that.If I'm wrong...sorry.Doug

"T" is for Trunk Cabin

The tall rig was a good guess, that's what it stands for on Catalina and some others. However, in this case it stands for trunk cabin. The 30 was made two way back then, sloped deck or the more traditional style of a trunk cabin. It didn't sell well as it looked like an old boat, so it was discontinued.

I disagree

I read somewhere that the "T" stood for the "T" shaped cockpit configuration. This may be incorrect but I can't resist a good debate. It would be interesting to hear from someone from Hunter to settle this.

"T" is all "Trunked" Up

Thorp is correct. Although I'm not from Hunter, that is what I was told when inquiring about the difference back in '91 when we bought our 30T. I'm not sorry it was discontinued, though. When comparing the newer boats with ours, it is apparent the 30T has held its value.Smooth sailin'.

T and G

Hunter made two models of the 30 footer between 1988 and 1994. The 88-89 models had a cabin top that sloped gently into the foredeck. These were called "30G". The 90-94 models had exactly the same hull and a similar deck, except the forward part of the cabin had more headroom and sloped more abruptly to the foredeck. Both boats have the same "T" shaped cockpit. The 30T had several other minor but useful improvements. I prefer the looks of the 30G but the 30T has better ventilation and more cockpit storage. (I own a 30G).
