I have a friend who is very serious about buying the 306 in the near future. He is adamant about getting a trailer with it to keep it on. Does anyone have such an arrangement? If so, could you forward me a picture/s of the boat on the trailer? I also am quite impressed with the 306 which I saw at the Miami boat show last month,(however,finances at this time prohibit the purchase!) Thanks-fairwinds-Pete svmanido@cs.com

MAST RAISING 290
HI DAN JONAS I VERY INTERESTED IN SEEING THE MAST RAISING SYSTEM FOR 290 IF YOU CAN SEND PICTURES OR DRAWING S FROM OWNERS MANUAL, I THINK THE 306 -290 MUCH TOO BIG AND TOO HEAVY TO TRAILER SAIL IT THE TRAILER COST IS AROUND $6000.00 AND MAST RAISING SYSTEM $1000.00 NOT COUNTING INSTALLATION ,AND YOU WOULD NEED A REALLY HEAVY DUTY TOW VEHICLE,PLUS THE WIDTH WOULD BE A PROBLEM POSSIBLE PERMITS NEEDED, I ALSO LOOKED AT ALL THESE THINGS .

Mast Raising System
Nick, I have no idea exactly how the mast raising system works. The total components are this long chrome bar that I keep in the garage. The manual that I have is silent on method. Perhaps someone else on here has some actual experience using the system. Dan Jonas (S/V Feije)

30t on a trailer
I purchased my 94 30t last year and it came with a trailer. I never moved the boat while on the trailer, but I did pull the trailer empty. It even seemed big empty. I have kept the trailer, for maintenance, emergencies, storage, to loan to friends to pull boats, I don't know, it just seemed like the thing to do. I have attached a pic of the boat on the trailer while being rigged. I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least.

My Mac26X has a mast raising system and it works as follows: a "gin pole" is bolted at the base of where the mast goes, and stands straight up,just in front of the mast, (for raising the mast).At the top end of the pole, is an eyelet on each side.(fore,and aft) On fore eyelet a set of blocks (unknown ratio)is attatched, and then attatched to a strap on the deck forward about 5 feet. The line from this tackle is led back to the sheet winch. Now,the jib halyard is secured to the other eyelet(aft on the pole) and runs to the top of mast (which is horizontal at this point),then down to it's cleat on the mast where it is secured well. To raise the mast, the winch is cranked,pulling the mast up as the gin pole is pulled down to the foredeck by the tackle arrangement. Hope this is clear enough,it's not really hard,and not much force is required due to the tackle deal. The steps are reversed to lower the mast. Pete Florida
