Hello,

My Uncle and I are very interested in a pretty nice 1980 30' O'Day, but we have a beautiful new sailboat trailer that he is committed to using and I am trying to find specs to fax to the builders of the trailer to see if she can be modified for the O'Day, if anyone can steer me in the right direction, and we can modify the trailer, we will join the O'Day sailing world. thanks

Any other advice on the boat would be great...

Are you really talking about an O'Day 30 here?

I have one and its not really a boat that you just trailer around. first the mast is about 50' long and it takes a crane to remove and at least three people and about 45 minutes to remove, and at least the same to put back in plus maybe 30 more minutes. it also weighs between 10,500# and 11000# depending on model. so better have a very big truck to pull it. also it has a beam of 10'9" so it needs a permit to move it over any highway. I doubt that a regular boat trailer can be modified to carry it. most triad trailers are designed to carry maybe a J-24 or such.
