30, 88-94, How did you run your genaker halyard?

Before I start drilling holes in my boat (1989 30fter), I was hoping to find out how other owners routed ther spinaker or genaker halyards. internal? external? where did you exit the mast at the bottom? back to the cockpit? port or starboard? stuff like that. thanks steve

Away from the Jib

Steve, I installed a new exit block about 16" above the current forestay connection, ran the halyard down the inside and back through the line organizers on the port side. I have 4 jam cleats one each side of the companionway. You can order from Garhauer extra stoppers and long bolts that allow the standard stoppers to be expanded. At the base of my mast port to stbd I have the following halyards: spare main, spinaker, main, and jib. The rest of the riggin is for vang, main reefs and down/out hauls. These all come back to the cockpit via turning blocks at the base of the mast.
