Can anybody tell me if an O'Day 34 would benefit from having a 3 bladed prop fitted, replacing the 2 bladed prop already in use? Would a 3 blade reduce or increase "kick" astern? Am I better leaving well alone?
I replaced my two blade prop with a three blade that Indigo makes for the Atomic 4. The prop walk was reduced and the power increased. The downside is that the drag under sail also increases. Since I don't race and the effect on my boat was minimal, I like the change.
