Hunter 29.5 On my valve cover, there is a tube coming out the breather on the cover. It is sticking out about 3 in. but there is nothing hooked to it. the book says it should be hooked to the intake to recycle and burn the fumes or the the exaust maniforld. I cannot seem to find anything to hook it to... where does it go ? Help Mario and Sylvie C'est MA VIE

On the intake manifold

The tube should be about 5 inches long. I don't know what that is in Metric. Bend it down to the manifold and look for it to hover over a nipple. That's where it goes. If the nipple is not there, look for a plug. Order a nipple from Yanmar and install it where the plug is located. Also be sure that the hose is clear of sludge. This is a good time to replace it.

valve cover (PCV) breather valve tube

Thanks Fred, I saw your pictures on your web page. Great work you did. Problem is that on the 2GM20f there is no such intake like on yours or any niple or plug I can see. It is a sigle straight in intake. I am hopping someone with a Hunter 29.5 or same engine can send me a picture of the rubber tube entering the intake or where ever it goes... Mario

Fred, I found the nipple

It was behind the air filter and very hard to see or spot. It was not pluged or capped and left open. It is now hooked to the tube. It should keep the engine compartment cleaner and the internal part lubricated.... I almost felt like the idle is a litle smoother now . Many thanks ! Mario

Fred:, I looked at your link

I wanted to look at the nipple you were talking about, and ended up going through all of your overhaul pics. What a great job you did. I wish I had 1/10 of your talent and skills. By the way, I had a 68 camero, and a 72, both bought new. I wish I had kept both. Thanks for the pics, and see you on the water.

Fred:

We are in Eagle Harbor, Winslow Wharf Marina. We can't go anywhere right now because I have taken apart our holding tank and almost finished. Should be fixed the next time the weather turns cooler and my wife is home. When I go upside down in the stern locker, I want cooler weather, and need my wife to pull me out by the legs if I get stuck.
