Hi Everyone. I have not been able to find the right 2GM20F V-Belt for Alternator. I have tried an A-37, A-36, and others from regular auto parts, with no positive outcomes. Can someone please help me find the right Belt and, if possible, where to buy it? I really appreciate any help you can provide. (My boat is an O'Day 302, 1988, in case that helps)

You could try a search for Yanmar 25132-003700, but as far as I know, that's an A37 belt. Do you still have the old belt? You may need to pull it off and bring it to the auto parts store to find the proper match.

Thank you. I will try the Yanmar 25132-003700, and let you know.

Book shows a 36 inch long "A" (A36) I think it crosses to a Gates 9370. Another page of the parts book says "A30" (Yanmar part # 25132-003000) . Don't know why the difference, but if the 36 is too big, that may be the one ya want.

Have you used the alternator bracket to take up or supply slack to the belt you are using ?

I would think the tension adjustment would allow either an A36 or an A37 belt.

Sorry, but cannot remember what size mine is but it's not a Yanmar supplied belt.

I am impressed with how clean your engine looks. You have been an inspiration to do the same. Thank you.

It has to be clean. It's where I hide my lunch when we set off for the day.

Bloody crew of mine would have it eaten in a heartbeat if they got their hands on it :cuss: !

That 6370 is “serrated” but my current belt is not. Is that ok/better to use?
That's really weird. The belt was a regular V-belt when I ordered mine and the physical belt I received has no serrations.
While the serrated will work, try to find the equivalent non-serrated. Most auto stores also carry them.
