A recent post from jack o'connell asked about installing a windlass on a 29.5. Jack, I could not reply to your message but I purchased my 29.5 used and it has a windlass. If you still need information I can help. Reply to this post and I will respond. Cheers, Chet s/v Calibra

Overkill

Given the size of the anchor and the extended prow, a windlass seems unncessary. But glad to hear someone has figured it out.

understand your point Bill but....

jack has health problems as he mentioned in his post and i see it went unresolved. Found many other uses...son hauls me up the mast with it (beats grinding) and even used it to pull away from a soft grounding. Also makes it much easier to retrieve when the wind is honking 20kts.
