I went to drain the antifreese from the engine and disconnected the hoses that run from the engine to the hot water heater. The hose that runs from the engine, and sits just ab0ve the altenator, was accessed and found to have almost worn right though. I guess from the friction. This is a high pressure system and there was only a small amount of rubber left before failure.
