Owners of 29.5's take note. I would kind of like to add a bit more privacy to my cabin layout, both in the aft berth, and, the V-berth. At this point, I am just curious to know if anyone has undertaken any measures to modify their cabin layout, and, if so, do you have pics to share? Thanks in advance.

I also have a 29.5

Since we normally sail as a couple for overnight or more, lack of privacy hasn't been a problem. The aft berth probably lends itself more to a bulkhead installation. I wouldn't mess with the v-berth forward since we use the v-berth on hot summer nights with the overhead hatch and companionway hatch open. The cross ventilation makes for very comfortable sleeping that way.

4 solutions

#1. Buy your kids a another boat to sleep on (maybe one that you could race) Suggestions-J22 or J24. #2. Buy the 356. ooooah! Thats a nice looking boat and would be a nice step up. #3. Stay at the dock, keep the shore power plugged in, and keep the fans on high! #4. The actually was an article in "Sail" or "Cruising World" about a guy that cut his boat in half and added 4 ft to the salon. I think we'll be patient and wait until the kids go to college! If you do find a serious solution, let us know. But I agree with the previous post-the big open saloon is nice when its just you and the s.o.

No problem...

Again, I was just a little curious. I DO like the cabin layout, and, it IS just me and my girlfriend. It would just be nice to have a bit more privacy when I bring friends aboard. Maybe someday, I'll get a 356, but, I've only just purchased this boat (last Sept.). Thanks again.
