Just a query. Does anybody have a 28MkII that can point into the wind worth a poop? Or is it just my shoal draft keel? I've heard most all of them, shoal or deep keel, won't.Any confirmations? Thanks,Kevin
Don't feel bad. Shoal draft boats aren't known for their pointing ability. You might try moving your traveler over just past center toward the wind & then flattening out the sail with either a cunningham or mainsheet. LaDonna
Don't let anyone tell you that the 28 MKII does not point well! I own one and it will point as well as most. Racers, J-boats and the like excluded. I also have a wing keel. You requested information on tuning your rig and thats where the problem begins. A poorly tuned boat will not sail well. I have added a backstay adjuster to my boat because if the jib stay sags you will not point well and the speed will be affected.Charlie
