Re: Rudder
I agree whole-heartedly with Cliff. I have an Ida Sailor rudder on my 28.5 and it works wonderfully. My original rudder was wet and partially delaminated. It would have cost me around $750 to have it rebuilt. The Ida rudder didn't cost much more than that and it's garranteed for life never to split, absorb water, etc. It's made of high-density polyethylene (sp?). Not only is it superior construction-wise, the boat handles flawlessly. I can steer the boat without any real effort regardless of the conditions. It's very responsive as well. It also makes for low power consumption with the auto-pilot. I highly recommend it.
