28.5 traveler

Has anyone moved the traveler to the roof of a 28.5. Good idea? Bad idea? How did you do it?

Why would you move it up & forward? I like it as designed.

As a mostly solo sailor, I like being able to reach the OEM traveler/mainsheet from the helm. I think it would much harder if moved forward. The only benefit I can imagine from such a move (and it would be costly as you most likely need to install a bridge over the companioway and multiple purchase blocks under the boom) would be to get the mainsheet away from the the companionway opening. The only time that is a concern is when at anchor and then it's a simple matter to just move the traveler to port or starboard and out of the way. What other upside is there?
