Has anyone had any experience with a Martec folding prop. I have a 1986 Hunter 28.5 that is stock plus a 155 Genoa on a rollar furling. I am considering getting one for the upcoming season so I can eliminate prop drag while sailing, gain maybe a half a knot, and maybe improve overall performance. The boat will sail at theoretical hull speed under the right conditions. I just trying to tweek it a bit and eliminate drag. My original plan was to buy a spare Main and 110 Genoa to back up my older sails and a new prop to smooth thing out. All of this to go with a newly faired keel. Any thoughts? Thanks. Folding Prop

The previous owner of my 28.5 installed a 16x10 geared, folding prop. He says he could get another know of speed out of it. Other than a bit of noise when shifting out of neutral, it has performed flawlessly.
