This past month there was a post indicating the 28.5 aft cradle support curve measurement was available from Hunter. I contacted Hunter and the response is: "Unfortunately we do not have these measurements available, they used a wood template to cut these supports using a band saw and these templates are no longer available." I (and probably some others here) would appreciate it if anyone that has or can provide the curve dimensions(rise measurements [from steel support frame] at various intervals outboard from center), please post them to the 28.5 model knowledgebase on this site. Thanks

I'd be glad to post this

to the H28.5 Knowledgebase. Grizz: would it be possible to scan or otherwise digitize your template? If so, I'd be glad to post that as well. Yet in the end, I would think one would be better off with any cradle wide enough for an H28.5, but with adjustable pads on itlike those found on jackstands.

Adjustable pads and digitized template

Warren, I'd love to digitize the template, but the thing has a block size of 72" x 10"! I suppose I can can transpose the geometry and dimensions of the lower angles, but the arc corresponding to the hull may be a bit beyond my abilities. And you're right, I'd much rather have a cradle with 4 (or 6?) adjustable pads, but this is what she came with, so this is what I'll have to make do with. The aft support HAD to be replaced this summer 'cause it was almost completely rotted from 21+ years of exposure w/ no TLC to a point where I almost didn't catch it in time before it was useless as a template. I shudder to think of the impact the compreession forces would have created this fall once the slings from the travel-lift had been removed. Fiberglass, wood and popping steel aren't soothing sounds! I'm all ears if you can figure out a way to digitize the template, just let me know. Thanks, as always, and take care.
