Greetings all, Looking at a 272 Oday, for some shallow water cruising. Does the wing keel offer greater possiblity of damage when the boat is inavernetly caught by the tide, and subsquent "dry out" following a grounding? Any other comments, info on pre purchase inspection of this model would be useful. Thanks

Keel damage

Bud, Fortunately I have not grounded my 272 yet. Since wing keels have a tendency to dig in when running around and thus require more force to free, the potential for damage is greater. However, as shallow as this boat runs, it is hard to run it aground unless you are careless. I have had my 272 for 2 months and love it.
