Does anyone know the arrangement of the 272 bilges and how they interact? I have an 86 with just the one manual bilge pump under the floor board in the main cabin. This bilge only seems to fill when the other bilges reach a certain level. Anyone know where the lowest point would be and how to gain access? Thanks

Lowest spot is under the forward of the two main boards
Mike, this is where the small forward (in the head compartment) well drains to. The bilge area under the engine is isolated from the "main" bilge, as it should, as you don't want to pump overboard any oil, fuel, etc. that will accumulate there. The icebox drain also exits in the bilge, although I've seen some folks suggest tapping it instead into the sink drain that goes to the through-hull near both. I'm not too excited about that idea, as when you want to have the through-hull closed, you will wind up with melted ice, etc., backing up in the icebox.
