Made New
Hi Scott,I replaced the aluminum with stainless steel about 10 years ago. The new one has atleast 6 times the strenght of the original and works just like the day I installed it.Had rebuilt, reworked the original two times - each was better but not adequate (would wear a little 2 - 3 seasons).I kept the same shape for the tiller connector - just made it out of stainless. A friend made the rudder post (machine shop) and another friend made the tiller connector out of plate SS welded.I don't have the drawing of the rudder post - used rectangular stock with a bore for the rudder - left the top section full to increase bearing surface. Increased the bolt size. Good Luck,BobBob
