Here's another pic of both sections out of the boat, so it can more easily be seen how it's made. The cross pieces connect to 1"x3/4" tee's, that can slide on the outer frame. This way more strength is achieved. There is enough room underneath the floor, I'll be installing a shoot thru the hull transducer for my fishfinder. Next I'm going to re-route the drain pipes using PVC as well. The drain pipes will hug the walls so they don't get in the way of storage as much.

It's Surprisingly strong!

The sched 40 PVC is the thicker pipe, it's pretty strong. I don't intend on putting anything real heavy in there anyway. There's no problem putting my anchors and the 3.3 gal gas tank in there. It would be real easy to lay some 1/4" marine plywood over it, or better yet a sheet if stiff plastic. That would make it real strong, I don't think it would sag even over time. I'm thinking of some of that rubber floor mat stuff, cut to fit. I think that in itself will be strong. I like your bread tray idea too!
