26d rudder haul down

Does any one have some detailed photos of best arrangement for the lines that pull down and lift up the kick up rudder on a 26d. I just installed a new idasailor rudder and tiller. Now I want to install the best method for pulling it up and down from the cock pit. Anybody? Stu

my setup

I'm not really happy with this either.. needs more advantage on the down side. probably will need to drill further back too... to raise it up. I always seem to have to stand on the ladder. then theres the drag of the lines in the water.... Rudder hold down

I just received my gas shocks for my rudder and for my pop top. My gas shock will both hold the rudder up and down by going overcenter. I'll post pics when I get it done, but I used a gas strut on my other rudder, before I purchased my new Unifoil. The Unifoil will make it possible to better position the gas spring than the stock rudder head. Search for gas spring at the website link
