So, my First Mate and I have bought fabric for curtains for our '99 H260 and are stuck when it comes to hardware for making the curtains and mounting them. We used these http://www.zarcor.com/products/peek-a-booo/index.php from Zarcor on our H23 and were happy with them but the price will be prohibitive on the 260.

The problem we're having is how to deal with the chainplate access. Crazy Dave, if you have any suggestions (or apologies for designing the cabin this way) please feel free to chime in. If anyone has pictures of what they've done we would be eternally grateful. I want to have what I need to put under the Christmas tree if possible.

Thanks!

I have seen he inexpensive levolor style fold up shades that can be purchased from Walmart, lowes with the use of short screws going into the headliner.

My wife likes to use dowels, spacers and ss screws Stain dowels to right tint and they look great plus they cost little. Hope this helps, Chief

What Worked for Us

I put eye straps in each corner of the windows and stretched some bungee cord across them. My wife sewed the curtains with a sleeve at the top and bottom. pulled the bungee cord through and hooked them up works great.

I actually found it was cheaper to buy short small bungee cords dissect them and construct my own to the appropriate size.

Sounds like we did something similar to Mr. Webb except I installed nylon (open) hooks and sewed loops into the ends of the bungees. This way we can easily install the curtains on our H26 only when we need them for privacy (eg. when rafted or at a marina) and leave them off when un-needed. Sorry can't find pictures at the moment.

The curtains across the V-berth are mounted on a track and are left permanently in place.

I realize that this doesn't solve your chainplate issues which we do not have on our H26.

Odd Corners

An extra eye strap on the bulkhead and a hook along the bungee solve the fitting odd lines issues. Taking Fred's idea an extra step. A hook on the odd corner would work as well just sew an opening into the sleeve of the curtain stretch it across hook the middle and boom; pork chops and applesauce.
