I have an Oday 26 that I recently purchased. When I rigged the mainsail the foot came all the way back to the end of the boom. Oday specs indicate the E dimension is 10' 4" and the boom measured 10'. Also this boom has the mainsheet attached to a tang at the end of the boom whereas some of the pictures indicate the attachment point on a bail somewhere ahead of the aft end of the boom. I am looking for someone who knows or can measure the length of the boom extrusion between the gooseneck fitting and the aft endcap and possibly provide a photo. Thanks

I have an O'Day26 and the boom length is about 10'6", the boom is about an inch or two longer than the foot of the mainsail. A previous owner installed a cabin top traveller and mid-boom sheeting for the mainsheet There are two bails at the end of the boom, and I always supposed one of them was for the original sheeting arrangement. There probably should be a bit of clearance between the clew of the main and the end of the boom to allow for controlling the draft of the main.

Ron, Thanks for the reply. I am beginning to believe that my boom may have come from and O'day 25.
