26.5 Tiller ?

I recently purchased a '87 26.5. My question to other owners is about the height of the tiller arm. Mine seems to be to low and is below knee level when sitting in the cockpit. Have any of you had this same problem and have you come up with a solution? I recently ordered a new one because of splits showing up in the laminations. Is there any way of mounting it higher?

Mike: As I remember, on our old H'25 we had the same problem. When I purchased a new tiller I just drilled the holes so the end of the tiller as a couple of inches higher. You may also consider making it high enough in case you ever decide to put an autopilot on the tiller too.
