HEY Ya'll, made it back from the keys. Alittle scary (didn't let on to my lady though) the double axle trailer was a definate necessity!!!The boat was in the water, not in too bad a shape. Dock rash, some barnacles 9blasted right off with pressure washer. Now am sanding and buffing and waxing hull. Questions: I need sails, main jib, genoa. how is it that the luff quoted from sailright is shorter than the leech? doesn't add up. Hey anyone got any sails? 2. there isn't any halyards, genoa cars, main sheet or traveler on the boat. do i need the wire/rope halyards? if i can use rope what diameter?  3. The boat has a roller furling drum inside cabin, stainless steel, but no track.Is there anyone/ or anywhere i can talk to about rigging/installing/repairing this piece of equiptment? or is it probably a loss?4. there is a wire attached to the masthead next to the aftstay. The wire has a short length on rope(looks like clothesline) what is that???lopping lift? HOW DOES THAT WORK? Sails

The wire is probably a topping lift. If your boat is an O'Day 25 I have some sails available, as well as a wire-rope halyard for the main (new last season).

ok, i think we talked before? MY oday 25 might be the tall rig????my mast is close to 29ft long., I=28'7"; and j=10'6". boom is 9'4", and the "P"(top of mast to boom, top is25'6" or very close to that. the main has a track on it that the boom rides in. Some Answers

The luff is always shorter than the leech.1. The luff on a mainsail is the "leading edge", the one that runs up the main. The leech is the back part.Leech -> /| <-- Luff2. Ouch on the missing traveller and genoa cars. The stock units are pretty basic, but even pretty basic will cost you some bucks to replace.If your missing ALL of your running rigging, I'd recommend you contact Cajun Rigging. Can't help you on the furler, sorry.4. I'm almost positive that's the topping lift. On my O'Day, there was basically little to it. A rope connected to the wire, and then the other end to the mast. No adjustment, it was just there to hold up the boom when there was no mainsail raised. I've since converted to also serve as a flag halyard.BTW, the O'Day 25 tall rig had a fixed keel, the centerboard version has a mast that's 29' long. The tall rig was 31' long (from the deck)
