My boat came without the original mast and boom but the marina that sold it to me gave me one he promised would work. This is a dismasted boat. According to the info I've been able to find on the web, the 25.5 should have a mast 34'3" tall. I measured the one included with my boat today and the mast is 29'5". It seems obvious to me that performance will suffer if the mast is shorter than what was intended but how much of a problem is this going to be? I don't intend to race the boat just cruise but I also want to be able to make reasonable headway. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Flashman: I looked it up in the online manual under resourses. 29'6" is the right height.http:

I could be wrong...

...the specs for your mast is for a height of 34'3". I always thought the mast height specs were the distance from the water. How did you measure your mast?

I think...

...Monty is right. The mast height for the 25.5 is given as 34'3" and the P(mainsail luff) is 26'5". That would put the mast length at about 29.5' with a height from LWL at about 34'3".

You are right! The mast height is given in the manual at both mast height and LWL. Reference the link...
