So the lid in the corner, by the stove and sink, that pops out to reveil a huge triangular shaped cave. there is a smoked colored shelf and then at the bottom is a drain. This drain runs forward to just in front of the keel bolts. The water has nowhere to go since there is no bilge pump set up in mine. Do I have this all wrong, please let me know? Inclosed is a pic of the small bilge area where the cooler drains to.

Thanks all!
Craig

Read and search more, post less! I found some usefull stuff and I'll keep looking. It just seemed crazy that a cooler drain would go to a bilge with no pump and such a small space to contain any water.

Thanks,
Craig

You are correct.
The cooler on a Hunter 25.5 drains directly into the beilge.
I never understood why the didn't rout it overboard but instead into the beilge.

Consider yourself lucky. Previous owner had my cooler routed to just a little bit over the main thru hull valve. Thus as I received it the cooler had 6 to 7" of scummy lake water in it. I disconnected the hose from the cooler and can't find the line inside the bulkhead to reconnect it. It's going to be a dry storage area and not a cooler once I get the scum stains out of it. Very poor design concept IMHO even if you have a bilge pump which I do. I have the hose in the bilge are that used to drain it but can't find the end by the cooler to reconnect it. Thus we have a portable cooler on the floor in front of the quarter berth that I drain over the bilge when we leave the boat.
